The Raiders have signed ex-Giants DT Jay Alford, according to multiple media reports.
Alford was waived by the Giants on Saturday as the team moved to get down to the 53-man roster limit.
Alford joins a solid veteran group of Raiders defensive tackles that includes Tommy Kelly, Richard Seymour and John Henderson.
Alford, who was a third-round pick of the Giants in 2007, missed the entire ’09 season after suffering a knee injury in a preseason game against the Bears.
He started three games and appeared in 16 in ’08, recording 15 tackles and 2½ sacks. As a rookie, he appeared in 16 games and had one sack.
