The Patriots announced Sunday that they claimed and were awarded rookie OT Steve Maneri off waivers from Houston. In addition, the team released LB Tyrone McKenzie.

Maneri, a 6-6, 290-pound Temple product, was signed by the Texans as a rookie free agent in early May. He played tight end in college.
