In the midst of making their final cutdown Saturday, the Browns have activated NT Shaun Rogers from the physically-unable-to-perform list.
Rogers missed all of training camp and the preseason while rehabbing from a leg injury. Rogers had faced a possible suspension for an offseason weapons charge, but last week the league office announced he wouldn't be suspended.
Also, the Browns waived veteran CB Brandon McDonald, QB Brett Ratliff, DB DeAngelo Smith and two 2010 draft picks, fifth-round DB Larry Asante and sixth-round DL Clifton Geathers. They also terminated the contract of WR Bobby Engram.
The release of Ratliff means that rookie Colt McCoy will be the team's No. 3 quarterback, behind starter Jake Delhomme and backup Seneca Wallace.
Other cuts were WR Jake Allen, OL Casey Bender, DB Chris Chancellor, OL Paul Fanaika, DB Coye Francies, TE Joel Gamble, DL Travis Ivey, RB Chris Jennings, OL Scott Kooistra, DL Swanson Miller, DL C.J. Mosley, OL Pat Murray, OL Joel Reinders, DL Brian Sanford and WR Syndric Steptoe.
