The Bills announced Sunday that the team has signed free-agent TE David Martin and was awarded OG Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Steelers. They released TE J.P. Foschi and DB Dominique Harris to make room on the 53-man roster for Martin and Urbik.
Martin, a 6-4, 265-pounder, spent the 2007-08 seasons with the Dolphins after six years (2001-06) with the Packers. In his eight-year NFL career, he has recorded 152 catches for 1,519 yards and 14 touchdowns in 101 games with 43 starts. He sat out 2009 with a knee injury.
Urbik spent the '09 season with the Steelers and was inactive for each game. The 6-5, 323-pound Wisconsin product originally entered the league as a third-round (79th overall) pick of the Steelers in '09.
The team also announced that the following players have been placed on the practice squad:
RB Joique Bell, RB Rodney Ferguson, WR Naaman Roosevelt and OT Jason Watkins.
