The Seahawks have released WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, according to multiple reports.
The team will be on the hook for $15 million for Houshmandzadeh's one season in Seattle. He was signed to a five-year, $40 million contract prior to last season.
The Seahawks tried to trade him but found no takers.
Deion Branch and reclamation project Mike Williams are slated to start, with Golden Tate and Deon Butler two other receivers who figure to get major playing time.
There are a number of teams who could be interested in Houshmandzadeh's services, including the Raiders and Vikings. According to reports, the Vikings have released Javon Walker. They tried to sign Houshmandzadeh as a free agent prior to last season and have been weakened at wideout with Sidney Rice likely to miss half the season and Percy Harvin battling migraine headaches.
