The Giants have begun trimming their roster to 53 players with a somewhat surprising deletion: TE Bear Pascoe.
Pascoe stood out in training camp at times as both a receiver and runner, playing quite a bit with TEs Kevin Boss and Travis Beckum injured. With Pascoe gone, Boss and Beckum are the only tight ends currently on the roster.
Because Pascoe played only four games last season, he's eligible to land on the Giants' practice squad if he's not scooped up by another team.
Other Giants cuts announced later in the day included DT Jay Alford; QBs Rhett Bomar and Dominic Randolph; RB Andre Brown; WR Derek Hagan; RB Gartrell Johnson; OL Guy Whimper; FB Jerome Johnson; WR Tim Brown; TE Scott Chandler; DBs John Busing, Seth Williams, Courtney Brown, Matt O'Hanlon and Sha'reff Rashad; D-linemen Nate Collins, Alex Hall, Dwayne Hendricks and Tommie Hill; and O-linemen Jacob Bender, Jim Cordle, Dennis Londolt.
