The Dolphins have released QB Pat White and WR Patrick Turner, second- and third-round picks from 2009.

White was a standout quarterback at West Virginia who never could make the transition to the NFL under center. Although the Dolphins used him sparingly as a Wildcat option, he struggled to grasp the team's entire offense.

Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland called this a big season for Turner, who played in only two games and caught zero passes as a rookie. But Turner didn't impress in the preseason and was released.

Other cuts: TE David Martin, OL Andrew Hartline, NT Montavious Stanley, safeties Jonathon Amaya and Ross Weaver, DT Ryan Baker, DE Lionel Dotson, OGs Donald Thomas and Ray Feinga, OT Andrew Gardner, CB Kevin Hobbs, FB Rolly Lumbala, DB Nate Ness, WR Julius Pruitt and LBs J.D. Folsom, Chris McCoy, Austin Spitler and Erik Walden.
