A report on the NFL Network says that free-agent RB Derrick Ward, who was released by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, is visiting the Texans on Friday. The report says that if Ward doesn't sign with Houston, he will head to Seattle to visit with the Seahawks.
Ward was a big-money free-agent signing for the Bucs in 2009 but had a disappointing season as a backup to Cadillac Williams. He finished with 409 rushing yards on 114 carries (3.6 avg.) and one touchdown. He struggled even more in the ’10 preseason, with 21-50-0 rushing (2.6 avg.) in three games.
He rushed for 1,025 yards in ’08 with the Giants, where he flourished as a change-of-pace runner to Brandon Jacobs for five seasons.
