The Dolphins had a big scare in their final preseason game Thursday night when OLT Jake Long got hurt. Long should be ready for Week One, but with ORT Vernon Carey nursing an injured calf, the Dolphins added depth at tackle by trading for Cowboys OT Pat McQuistan, according to PFW's Dolphins correspondent Omar Kelly.

The Dolphins likely sent a seventh-round pick to the Cowboys for McQuistan, a five-year veteran. Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano coached McQuistan when he was the Cowboys' offensive line coach.

McQuistan played in just seven games in 2009 but played in all 16 games the two previous years. He has never started a game in the NFL, but he is more experienced than the backups the Dolphins had.

With top backup Nate Garner landing on injured reserve with a broken left foot, Lydon Murtha and Andrew Gardner were set to be the backup tackles. The two have played in two NFL games combined.
