None of our Seahawks sources could honestly say they saw the trade of fan favorite Josh Wilson to the Ravens coming. "But I do remember (new GM) John Schneider telling me at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team really needed to get bigger at cornerback," one team insider said. While the Seahawks reportedly liked the way Wilson performed as both a corner and kickoff returner, he was only 5-foot-9. With the team believing that the combination of rookie Walter Thurmond — who is two inches taller than Wilson and has provided a real physical presence — and former University of Washington star Roy Lewis could more than compensate for Wilson's departure, we hear it had a hard time passing up an extra draft pick next year (a fifth-round pick that could reportedly become a conditional fourth-round pick). "It also helps that both Marcus Trufant and Kelly Jennings have looked so good," the insider said.
