The Vikings will qualify for the playoffs once again, but they won't win the Super Bowl — or the NFC championship, for that matter — even with Brett Favre at quarterback. That's the consensus of our readers who voted in a just-concluded poll on ProFootballWeekly.com.

When Favre delivered his long-awaited proclamation that he would, indeed, play another season in Minnesota, we asked our readers: How will Vikings fare with Favre back?

Of 5,019 respondents to our poll, only 1,073 (21.4 percent) predicted that Minnesota would fail to make the playoffs.

Among the multiple-choice options, the most votes — 1,950, or 38.9 percent — went to the option "wild card but don't win NFC title." The next-most votes — 1,084, or 21.6 percent — went to "win division but not NFC title" option.

Only 612 voters (12.2 percent) predicted that Favre would guide the Vikings to a Super Bowl crown.

In our new poll, we ask readers to weigh in with their votes on who will win the NFC championship, with the regular-season opener next Thursday night. Let us know your pick.
