On the same day one of their top wide receivers returned to practice, the Cowboys saw another sit out.
Roy Williams was held out of Tuesday's practice due to a hip flexor and strained lower back. Both injuries were suffered in the Cowboys' preseason game last Saturday against Houtson. The rest was a precautionary measure, and Williams is expected to play in Dallas' season opener at Washington.
Williams is expected to team with Miles Austin and rookie Dez Bryant to form one of the top receiving corps in the NFL. Bryant returned to Cowboys practice Tuesday after missing five weeks due to an ankle injury.
