The Seahawks placed a waiver claim on OT Tyler Polumbus last week, only to see him land in Detroit because of the Lions' worse record. But after a trade Monday night, the Seahawks got their man.

The Detroit Free Press reported that the Lions traded Polumbus to the Seahawks, but it is unknown what Detroit received in return. Seahawks offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates was Denver's quarterbacks coach in 2008 when Polumbus was a rookie with the Broncos.

The Lions added Polumbus to provide depth at the ORT position where Gosder Cherilus and Jon Jansen are in a battle for the starting role.

The Seahawks' offensive line has been crippled by injuries this offseason, most notably to the sixth overall pick in the 2010 draft, OLT Russell Okung. Okung's backup, OLT Ray Willis, has been out after undergoing knee surgery. OL Mansfield Wrotto started at left tackle last Saturday against the Vikings.
