Browns DL Shaun Rogers avoided suspension from the NFL despite his arrest this offseason for carrying a gun at a Cleveland airport. He will, however, be fined one game paycheck.
As a result of rulilng, Rogers is eligible to play in the Browns' season opener against the Buccaneers. Rogers has missed all of training camp and the preseason, though, while recovering from a broken leg.
The fine is roughly $400,000, or one-seventeenth of his $6.9 million annual salary.
Rogers is the second AFC North player this month to avoid suspension for off-the-field problems. The NFL decided two weeks ago not to suspend Bengals LB Rey Maualuga after his guilty plea to DUI in February. Maualuga was fined two games' worth of pay.
