The Broncos announced Monday that they have released RB Justin Fargas and designated CB Tony Carter as waived/injured.

Fargas, 30, was signed by Denver as a free agent on Aug. 11 after spending the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Raiders. He had 10 carries for 17 yards and three catches for 20 yards in two preseason outings with the Broncos.

Carter, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury, joined the club as a college free agent on April 27, 2009. He had seen action in two games with Denver last season, starting one.
