Raiders WR Chaz Schilens will be out 3-6 weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery, head coach Tom Cable said Sunday. Schilens likely will miss the Raiders' opener in Tennessee.
Schilens, a three-year veteran, missed eight games in '09 while recovering from foot surgery. In the eight games in which he started, he had 29 catches for 365 yards and two touchdowns. He is expected to be the team's future No. 1 receiver.
WR Louis Murphy, a second-year player out of Florida, will start in Schilens' place opposite Darrius Heyward-Bey. Murphy had 34 catches for 521 yards and four touchdowns in '09.
