The Jets reduced their roster to 75 by cutting four players Sunday, most notably was longtime Jets WR Laveranues Coles.
Coles spent seven of his 10 seasons with the Jets and ranks fourth in team history with 459 receptions. The 32-year-old was added before training camp to provide depth at wideout while WR Santonio Holmes serves a four-game suspension to start the season.
Coles didn't play in Friday night's preseason game against the Redskins until the fourth quarter, catching one pass for seven yards. Coles is expected to retire, saying last week "Once the buck stops here, I'm done. It started here, it's going to end here for me."
The Jets could re-sign him in Week Two of the regular season when his salary would not be guaranteed.
The team also waived WRs Marcus Henry and Aundrae Allison and DL Rodrique Wright.
