The two key components of the Raiders' backfield suffered injuries during Saturday's preseason loss to the 49ers. QB Jason Campbell was carted off the field after being sacked. Then RB Michael Bush broke his thumb in the second half.

In a conference call Sunday, head coach Tom Cable said that Campbell's right wrist injury is more significant than a stinger. Campbell has had an MRI and X-rays and will be evaluated this week.

Bush will have a "procedure" on his fractured left thumb this week, but Cable did not rule him out of the season opener. Cable said Bush would be "protected" but not wear a cast.

Bush had seven rushes for 23 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. While listed as a co-starter at running back with Darren McFadden, Bush has started every preseason game and led the Raiders in rushing in 2009 with 589 yards.

Backup QB Bruce Gradkowski replaced Campbell early in the second quarter after Campbell was injured and threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
