When the Broncos waived OT Tyler Polumbus, multiple teams put in waiver claims for the third-year player out of Colorado, but the Lions won the Polumbus contest.
With Pro Bowl OLT Ryan Clady back with the team and expected to be healthy enough to start in Week One, the Broncos placed Polumbus on waivers. The Texans and Seahawks also put claims on Polumbus, who started eight games last season, but the Lions had the worst 2009 record of the three, earning them rights to Polumbus.
The Lions have question marks at the ORT position, where Gosder Cherilus is battling Jon Jansen for the starting role, and there isn't a whole lot of depth behind them.
