The Giants announced that CB Aaron Ross has a tear in the plantar fascia in his right foot and will remain in a cast for 7-10 days, meaning he is likely to miss the team's remaining two preseason games.
Ross played in only four games with one start in 2009 after suffering a hamstring injury in training camp. He had been playing well in this year's camp before injuring his foot last Saturday against the Steelers.
S Antrel Rolle tore his plantar fascia last season with the Cardinals and played through it, saying it is actually better to have the plantar fascia torn completely as opposed to the partial tear Ross has.
The Giants have a luxury of plenty of depth at the CB position. Ross, who has six career interceptions, was competing with Terrell Thomas to start opposite Corey Webster. He also has been returning punts this preseason.
