Mark Sanchez avoided a scare last Saturday when a Panthers player almost rolled into the quarterback's surgically repaired knee. The Jets don't have to worry about any more incidents with their franchise QB — Sanchez will wear a protective brace on his knee.
The second-year QB, who had his left knee surgically repaired in February, wore a brace in college after dislocating his kneecap.
"It's not even worth having other problems. My knee feels great. It's just a precautionary thing," he said.
Sanchez, who consulted with veteran backup QB Mark Brunell before adding the brace, most likely will wear the brace for the rest of his career.
