The Jaguars added another RB to back up Maurice Jones-Drew on Wednesday by signing Kolby Smith. To make room for Smith on the roster, Jacksonville waived LB Kris Griffin.
Smith only played in four games for Kansas City in 2009 after beginning the season on the physically-unable-to-perform list. He was then placed on injured reserve on Dec. 9 with an ankle injury.
The 25-year old had his best season as a rookie in 2007 with the Chiefs. He rushed for 407 yards and two touchdowns, and set a Chiefs rookie record in his first career start when he rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
