WR Chaz Schilens may need knee surgery, Raiders head coach Tom Cable told reporters in a conference call Monday.

Schilens, who has struggled to stay healthy, went to see a knee specialist to determine whether he needs arthroscopic surgery and the Raiders could have a better idea of what his future holds later today.

The third-year veteran missed eight games last season while recovering from foot surgery and the foot was operated on again this offseason. The same foot sidelined him earlier this month.

Cable said he's "very concerned" about Schilens and that the knee issue may be related to overcompensating for the foot injury.
