Redskins FS Kareem Moore could miss 4-6 weeks after suffering what's believed to be a sprained MCL in Saturday night's preseason contest against the Ravens, according to the Washington Post.

Moore suffered the injury in the second quarter while pursuing a ballcarrier. He was not hit on the play, falling to the ground after feeling something wrong with his knee. He will undergo an MRI on Sunday.

The loss could be critical for Washington, as Moore had been one of the team's training-camp stars and had ascended to No. 1 on the depth chart at free safety. With the 26-year-old in danger of missing one or more regular-season games, Chris Horton and Reed Doughty are expected to battle for the starting spot in the interim.

Entering his third season out of Nicholls State, Moore played in all 16 games in 2009 and registered 34 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles.
