The Patriots acquired OG Quinn Ojinnaka from the Falcons on Sunday for an undisclosed draft pick, according to FoxSports.com.
Ojinnaka, 26, spent the past four seasons in Atlanta, playing in 39 games and starting 12. Although primarily a guard, he also has spent time at tackle and center. He was on the roster bubble with the Falcons after the club drafted two offensive linemen this year. He also has to serve a one-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy.
With Logan Mankins holding out and Nick Kaczur dealing with a serious back problem, the Patriots were in need of depth at the guard position. Ojinnaka should provide them with a veteran reserve at left guard behind presumed starter Dan Connolly and is likely to make the final roster.
