Bengals S Gibril Wilson will miss the 2010 season after tearing both his ACL and MCL in Friday night's preseason contest against the Eagles, according to his agent.
Wilson, 28, signed a one-year contract with Cincinnati in May and appeared ticketed for backup duties at free safety. Spending time with the Giants, Raiders and Dolphins during his career, he was a tackles machine over the past five seasons, averaging 105 tackles per year.
The Bengals have good depth at free safety with likely starter Chinedum Ndukwe as well as second-year player Tom Nelson, but Wilson was expected to be a veteran contributor. To bolster the position, the team reportedly agreed to terms on Sunday with free agent Marvin White, who spent the first two years of his career in Cincinnati before starting six games for Detroit in '09.
