Falcons rookie WR Kerry Meier will miss the 2010 season after suffering a knee injury in Atlanta's loss to New England on Thursday.
The team placed Meier, a fifth-round pick, on injured reserve Friday. He had shown promise in training camp and was expected to be involved in the rotation at receiver, particularly in the first couple weeks of the season, when WR Michael Jenkins could miss time. Jenkins has been sidelined by a shoulder injury and is expected back early in the regular season.
Meier made 226 catches for 2,309 yards during his college career at Kansas.
