Former No. 1 Williams catching on in Seattle

Reclamation projects in all shapes and sizes continue to find their way to Seattle, with former first-round DL Kentwan Balmer becoming the latest noteworthy player Pete Carroll hopes can find lightning in a bottle after being obtained in a trade with the 49ers. Considering the way former first-round WR Mike Williams has been lighting it up in a Seahawks uniform this offseason after floundering on three different teams between 2005-07, team insiders don't expect Carroll to stop scouring the NFL landscape for potential diamonds in the rough anytime soon. "Of all the (projects), he has come the farthest," one daily team observer said of Williams. "He finally seems to get it. What he has that none of the other receivers has is size (6-5, 233). He's been a great red-zone target, but he also has shown some real explosiveness and yards-after-catch ability in the open field."
