Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will make his preseason debut at the Giants on Saturday night, according to multiple media outlets.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said Monday that Roethlisberger, 28, will play Saturday after sitting out the preseason opener vs. Detroit. Per, head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Roethlisberger will play against the Giants.

In April, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Roethlisberger for the first six games of the regular season for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension can be reduced to no fewer than four games.

Byron Leftwich started the preseason opener and is expected to start in Roethlisberger's absence in the regular season. Dennis Dixon, who started one game in place of an injured Roethlisberger last season, starred against Detroit, completing 6-of-7 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown while compiling a perfect QB rating of 158.3.
