Reports are circulating that free-agent RB Brian Westbrook will make a decision Monday about which team he'll play for this season.
ESPN reported that the Rams were "likely" to sign Westbrook, but St. Louis' chief contract negotiator, vice president of football operations Kevin Demoff, refuted that report, saying he hadn't spoken to Westbrook's agent for several days. Demoff added that he is optimistic that the Rams are still in the running for the former Eagles running back.
The Rams have been looking for a veteran to back up starting RB Steven Jackson, who is coming off back surgery and is the team's top offensive weapon.
Several other teams are reportedly in the running for Westbrook's services, including the Redskins, where Westbrook's younger brother, Byron, is a reserve cornerback.
