Training camp has come and gone for the Jaguars, and both starting safety jobs remain "wide open," according to head coach Jack Del Rio. The team's first unofficial depth chart lists FS Anthony Smith and SS Gerald Alexander with the first team, but we hear it's a fluid situation — the Jaguars will have a better idea of who wants to tackle and make plays after a few preseason games. Our sources say that none of the safeties has done enough to distance himself thus far, and the position remains a big concern. By listing Smith with the first team, we hear Del Rio might be trying to send a message to former first-rounder FS Reggie Nelson. Nelson had a good spring, according to Del Rio — the coach was pleased to see his safety spend more time in both the weight room and film room — but he needs to do more to earn his starting job back after having lost it in the final two games of last season.
