The NFL has suspended Falcons DT Jonathan Babineaux one game for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He was fined an additional game check, as well.
He can participate in all practices and preseason games before Sept. 4, when the suspension begins. He will not be allowed to rejoin the team until Sept. 13.
Babineaux, who was arrested in December, had his felony charge of possession of marijuana reduced to three misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession in July after he reached a plea deal to avoid jail time, according to reports.
The sixth-year veteran has started all 16 games in each of the past two seasons.
