The Cardinals have officially reached an agreement with first-round NT Dan Williams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

The 6-2, 327-pound Williams, who was drafted 26th overall out of the University of Tennessee, is widely expected to begin the regular season as the Cardinals’ starting nose tackle. Arizona’s defense suffered a major blow up the middle with the loss of ILB Karlos Dansby, who signed with the Dolphins.

By all accounts, Williams has made a strong early impression with the Cardinals. A three-year starter in college, he should benefit from the presence of 14-year veteran NT Bryan Robinson, who has returned for at least one more season to be part of Arizona's NT rotation.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, draft expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Williams was a “thick-trunked, stout interior defender equipped to hand the dirty work.”
