The Steelers announced the signing of LB Jason Worilds, their second-round draft pick from the 2010 draft, on Friday. Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed.
Worilds was the Steelers' second pick (52nd overall) in this year's draft after playing collegiately at Virginia Tech. He entered the draft following his junior season, having started 25 games and tallying 15½ career sacks. He was an All-ACC second-team honoree last year and posted a school-record (tied) 38 quarterback pressures in 2009.
The Steelers also officially announced their two-year deal with 13-year veteran OT Flozell Adams.
To make room on their training camp roster, the team released LBs Lindsey Witten and Johnny Williams, and LS Matt Stewart.
In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that the 6-2, 262-pound Worilds is a "compactly built, tough college defensive end who lacks desirable burst and flexiblity off the edge."
