Falcons rookie OLB Sean Weatherspoon will be reporting to training camp on Friday with a five-year contract.
PFW correspondent D. Orlando Ledbetter, a beat writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports the team confirmed they agreed to terms on a deal with Weatherspoon, who was the 19th overall pick in the draft.
The Missouri product took reps at weak- and strong-side linebacker this offseason and could compete for a starting job.
In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that while Weatherspoon is "an intense, fast-flowing, productive, search-and-flow weak-side ’backer with first-round measurables, (he's) not universally liked amongst scouts."
