The Saints announced they have agreed to terms with QB Patrick Ramsey and rookie TE Jimmy Graham.
Ramsey has been on the Saints' radar throughout the offseason, but the team was unable to sign unrestricted free agents until July 22 due to the "final eight" rule that was attached to an uncapped year. Chase Daniel will compete against Ramsey, who agreed to a one-year deal, to become Drew Brees' top backup.
Graham, a third-round pick, agreed to a four-year contract. Graham played college football for one year after exhausting his basketball eligibility at Miami (Fla.). In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Graham "still might require several years before he figures it out and adapts to the speed of the game, but has a very high ceiling and really could blossom with good coaching."
