The Panthers have agreed to terms with second-round pick Jimmy Clausen on a four-year deal, according to reports. He will report to training camp on time Wednesday.

A league source told PFW correspondent Darin Gantt, a beat writer for the Charlotte Observer, that Clausen's contract could pay him up to $6.3 million with incentives. The source said the deal includes $2.533 million guaranteed.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Clausen is "a tough, instinctive, competitive gamer who overhauled his mechanics from the time he was a freshman, physically matured and developed into a decisive marksman."

Clausen, the 48th overall pick, will likely enter the season as QB Matt Moore's backup.
