The Buccaneers announced they signed rookie WR Arrelious Benn to a four-year contract on Tuesday.
Benn, the 39th overall pick, was the second of Tampa Bay's two second-round selections. The Illinois product is expected to make an immediate impact for the Bucs. Benn and fourth-round pick Mike Williams could open the season as the team's starting wide receivers.
In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Benn "is a body catcher and needs refinement as a route runner, but his combination of size, strength and run-after-catch ability should allow him to make an impact as a 'Wildcat' runner, kick returner and complementary receiver, with potential to develop into a solid pro in a West Coast offense."
