The Bengals signed LB Roddrick Muckelroy, a fourth-round pick from Texas, on Tuesday.
Muckelroy, 23, was a full-time starter at Texas in his final two seasons, notching 112 tackles in 2008 and 102 tackles in '09. He'll compete for a reserve role in the Bengals' LB corps and to contribute on their special-teams coverage units.
In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote of Muckelroy: "Active, disciplined, assignment-sound 'Will' linebacker whose football character and solid intangibles buoy an average athletic skill set." Muckelroy, Nawrocki said, "has traits to be a core special-teams player."
