The Packers announced the signing of second-round DE Mike Neal, whose role with the team figures to be greater in the wake of Johnny Jolly’s season-long suspension.

A four-year letterman at Purdue, the 6-3, 294-pound Neal appeared in 46 career games, including 23 starts, and finished his career with 99 tackles (56 solo), including 26 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks. He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors from the media as a senior.
Neal becomes the sixth of seven Packers draft picks to sign with the team, leaving only first-round pick OT Bryan Bulaga unsigned.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, personnel expert Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Neal was a ”flash player who looks the part and possesses starter-caliber strength, quickness and power.”
