The Dolphins agreed to terms on Sunday with former Jaguars DT Montavious Stanley, according to his agent.
Stanley, 28, was a sixth-round pick in 2006 and has played in games with the Falcons, Saints and Jaguars during his four pro seasons. Last year, he appeared in 15 contests and finished with 20 tackles, one sack and three passes defended. He was released by Jacksonville in April.
After the Dolphins recently lost DT Jason Ferguson to retirement and DE Phillip Merling to a season-ending Achilles' tendon tear, they acted quickly by adding ex-Jets DE Marques Douglas on Friday and Stanley on Sunday. Douglas is likely to compete for a starting spot, while Stanley is expected to provide depth in the middle.
