There has been speculation that Falcons DT Peria Jerry's recovery from knee surgery is not moving as quickly as the team anticipated, and that perhaps the injury, which ended his rookie season in Week Two, was more severe than some had suspected. While specifics about the injury have not been disclosed, the Falcons have said it's not a torn ACL and it isn't bone-related. Word is Jerry, who sat out OTAs and minicamps, will be ready to participate to some degree when players report to training camp July 29. Like many players returning from surgery, Jerry will probably be limited early. Some say he will be held out of certain drills or entire practices. The 2009 first-round pick was red-flagged before the draft by some evaluators as a player lacking durability. He's expected to start next to Jonathan Babineaux this year, and GM Thomas Dimitroff has said he expects Jerry's return to boost the team's pass rush.
