The Steelers signed OT-OG Adrian Jones on Wednesday and placed ORT Willie Colon on injured reserve.
Jones, 29, did not appear in a game last season after the Texans released him on Sept. 5. In 2008, the 6-foot-4, 330-pound Jones started 10 games at guard for Kansas City. Jones, who also has made NFL starts at right and left tackle, began his career with the Jets (2004-07). The Jets waived him on Dec. 18, 2007, and he spent the rest of the season and all of the '08 campaign with the Chiefs.
Colon, the Steelers' starting right tackle the last three seasons, suffered a torn right Achilles tendon on June 28. Jones could contend to replace Colon, as could Ramon Foster, Tony Hillis and Jonathan Scott.
