The Bengals and C Reggie Stephens, a seventh-round pick from Iowa State, have agreed on a contract, the team's official Web site and The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Tuesday. Both media outlets said Stephens was expected to sign this week.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Stephens started at all three interior line positions for the Cyclones. He moved to center as a senior and made 12 starts. He is likely to compete to back up starter Kyle Cook in Cincinnati.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, Stephens' size, versatilty and hand strength were cited as positives, but Stephens "carries too much bad weight and has marginal flexibiity," personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki noted.
