The Panthers announced they signed third-round pick Brandon LaFell on Tuesday.

LaFell, a wide receiver, started 35 games at LSU and made 175 receptions. He's expected to compete against Dwayne Jarrett to become Carolina's No. 2 wide receiver.

In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, PFW personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that LaFell is a "boom-or-bust candidate with concerning personality traits and frustrating on-field consistency coming from a program whose recent wide receiver products have tended to disappoint in the pros."

QB Jimmy Clausen, is the only Panthers' draft pick that has yet to sign with the team.
