The Bengals waived OG Jason Shirley on Monday. Shirley was waived with a non-football injury after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in a charity basketball game in April.
Shirley, 24, began his career as a defensive tackle and appeared in three games on defense in 2008. He moved to guard last summer. He was released at the end of the preseason and spent last season on the Bengals' practice squad.
If Shirley clears waivers, he will be placed on the reserve/non-football injury list, the Bengals announced.
