The Falcons announced Friday that they have signed WR Kerry Meier, the team's fifth-round pick in the 2010 draft. Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, though FOXSports.com is reporting that it's a four-year deal worth $1.95 million.
The Falcons have now signed six of their seven draft picks, which include: DT Corey Peters (third round), OG Mike Johnson (third round), C Joe Hawley (fourth round), CB Dominique Franks (fifth round), Meier (fifth round) and S Shann Schillinger (sixth round).
Meier totaled 226 receptions for 2,309 yards with 18 touchdowns while adding 417 rushing yards on 118 carries with six TDs in 46 career games at the University of Kansas. His receptions mark is a school record.
In PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, PFW personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote that Meier "is not flashy, but is a versatile, team-first guy with good hands who could earn a job as a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver."
Meier will likely have to earn a spot on special-teams units to make the final roster.
