Most of the speculation surrounding RB Adrian Peterson and his happiness with the Vikings this offseason has come from speculative reports. First, there was the hijacking of the offense last season by QB Brett Favre and the passing game, and though Peterson was very diplomatic about the situation, many assumed he would be upset. Then there was Peterson missing OTAs, which upset head coach Brad Childress, but the running back proclaimed the issue dead and gone later that month in June. And with all the grumbling of Titans RB Chris Johnson and other young star players wanting new contracts, many have assumed Peterson would be the next to proclaim his unhappiness. But Peterson has remained mostly quiet about his status. Is it possible he'll soldier on without much word of complaint? Yes, one source says. Peterson likely will stay quiet until training camp, where he'll face questions about his fumbling from last season and his contract situation, but it likely will be swept away when a Favre decision is made. This tempest everyone is expecting with Peterson and the Vikings might not come as it has been forecast.
