Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has said Kyle Orton is his starting quarterback until someone beats Orton for the job, and backup Brady Quinn recently told PFW his goal heading into training camp is to play and to win.

"I think if you look across the board at our roster, you have guys competing for jobs everywhere and the quarterback position is no different," he said.

There was immediately speculation that Quinn would replace Orton in the starting lineup when Denver acquired Quinn this offseason. Orton, however, is more familiar with McDaniels' offense and observers say it showed during offseason practices, when Orton outperformed Quinn and first-round pick Tim Tebow.

"It's an offense, it takes time (to learn) like anything else," Quinn said. "I feel comfortable with it now. It's just more of showing coaches that. … I think you have to show an amount of comfort with the offensive system. I haven't been in it for a year. Kyle has."
