The Texans signed WR Dorin Dickerson, a seventh-round selection from Pittsburgh, on Wednesday.
Dickerson, who played tight end in his final season at Pittsburgh and caught 49 passes for 529 yards and 10 touchdowns, will vie to make Houston's roster as a reserve wide receiver. Dickerson (6-2, 230) played receiver and linebacker earlier in his collegiate career.
Dickerson, personnel analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote in PFW's 2010 Draft Preview, "has shown big-time flashes of potential" but "is still raw as a route runner and will need to be used on simple routes where he does not have to make sharp cuts to be most effective."
